The small cohort size has allowedfor personalized guidance and mentorship, which is essential in this challenging field.Having African American nurses as mentors has been particularly meaningful to me. Their deep understanding of cultural nuances and health disparities within African American communities will be instrumental in providing culturally sensitive care. Additionally, seeing African American nurses in leadership positions inspires me and other students of color, demonstrating that a careerin nursing is accessible and rewarding. “I chose Health and Safety Education Training Center as the school to get my practical nursing certification because it provides individualized teaching for each student and the instructors care about the students and their progress. I have always wanted to be in the medical field because I have a great passion for caring and helping heal people. My mother was an amazing nurse, and my role model. I look greatly up to her, and it would be an honor to continue the legacy. My daughter is also a nurse, and I see how hard she works and how much love she shows her patients. I believe the Health and Safety Education Training Center will assist me in progressing in my nursing career; the new sims lab is one I look forward to experiencing because I will have hands-on training which will prepare me for the workforce.
